The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual Business Luncheon on February 6th at the Hollingsworth Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (JA Biz Town), with special guest speaker, Ted Hall.
Hall is the Anchor/Managing Editor with WVLT TV. Ted Hall anchors the 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 pm newscasts on WVLT and the 10:00 pm newscast on CW. He has been honored in journalism with several Emmy’s, an Edward R. Murrow and many other awards in his 3 plus decades in news. Ted’s broadcasting career started in 1983 at KNAB-AM/FM in Burlington, Colorado. His first Television news job was at KLOE-TV/AM in Goodland, Kansas. Their claim to fame was being the smallest TV station in America that did it’s own local newscasts. Ted also worked at Wichita, Lawrence and Topeka, Kansas TV stations before coming to Knoxville. After 18 years of working in Knoxville at WBIR, Ted went to WXIA-TV in Atlanta as an evening news anchor. Ted says he and his family are thrilled to be back in East Tennessee and is truly happy to call WVLT home.
After revealing the 2019 Guidebook Cover, the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the Volunteer Awards. The following awards were awarded to: The Lifetime Achievement Award, Bear Stephenson; the R.C. Hoskins Award (Male Winner), Gene Patterson; The R.C. Hoskins Award (Female Winner), Melissa Bingham; The Ambassador of the Year Award, Debbie Sellers; and the Young Professional of the Year Award, Michael Foster.
